Change the resolution of your monitor
- Press Windows Key + I to open the Settings app.
- When the Settings app opens, navigate to the Display tab.
- In the Resolution section, click the drop-down list and choose a different resolution.
Adjust your monitor’s refresh rate
- Open the Settings app and navigate to System > Display
- Select Advanced display settings
- Now go to Change resolution and refresh rate
- Here, adjust the refresh rate to 60 Hz
Turn on the desktop scaling
- Press Windows Key + I to open the Settings app.
- When Settings app opens, go to System section.
- In the System menu, go to Display.
- In Display menu, go to the Advanced scaling settings.
- Go to the High DPI scaling section.
- In High DPI scaling section, turn on the Override high DPI scaling behavior option.
Make sure that your monitor is compatible with Windows 10
- If your monitor isn’t compatible with Windows 10, your clock won’t appear on the desktop.
- Press the Windows key + R to open Run.
- Type regedit and click OK to open Registry Editor.
- Navigate to the following key:HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionSmall Icons
- Right-click on Desktop and select New > String Value.
- Name it Clock and right-click on it.
- Select Modify.
- In the Value Data window, enter the following:C:WindowsSystem32cmd.exe /c echo %time% > clock.txt
- Click Ok to save changes.
Make sure you’re signed in with the correct account
- If somebody else is using your PC, check if the clock is present on their desktop.
- Open the control panel, type clock in the search bar, and open Clock from the results.
- Click Clock, followed by Change date and time settings.
- Select the Internet Time tab.
- Click Change Settings, and either select Change Settings or Change Settings automatically.
