Many people enjoy playing video games, and full-screen video games are liked by all.
However, some games still have the 4:3 aspect ratio, and this can be annoying.
> So on my big screen, when I play a game in fullscreen, the 4:3 aspect ratio > makes the game look weird, and since the screen is 16:9, it looks very > narrow. It ruins the experience.
If you’re also troubled by the 4:3 aspect ratio issue, here are a couple of tips to help you fix this problem.
- To make a game full screen, you can display the game window on your entire desktop.
- You can lock the game window to your desktop when in full screen mode.
Move the Game’s Folder
- Locate the game’s folder in File Explorer.
- Right-click on Game’s folder.
- Select the Properties option.
- Now, go to the Location tab.
- Select Move here.
- Choose a folder that’s not currently in use.
- Click OK to save the changes.
- Launch the game.
- Check to see if the fullscreen mode works.
Change the game’s graphics settings
- Press the Windows Key + I to open the Settings app.
- Navigate to System > Display > Adjust desktop size and position > Under Scaling, click Scale for best performance
Install the latest drivers
- Go to your NVIDIA Control Panel, click on Manage 3D Settings, then select Program Settings from the dropdown menu.
- Then, click on Game Settings.
- Click on Change Resolution.
- Select Fullscreen and Apply.
Change the game’s compatibility settings
- The compatibility settings of a video game might be the culprit. So, try changing the game’s compatibility settings by right-clicking the game in Steam and selecting Properties.
- Then select the Compatibility tab on the window that opens next.
- Select the Run this program in compatibility mode for option, and click on the Troubleshoot tab.
- Select Run this program in compatibility mode for option, and click on the Troubleshoot tab.
- Select the Run this program in compatibility mode for option, and click on the Troubleshoot tab.
- Click the Change settings button.
- Next, select Run this program in compatibility mode for option, and click on the Troubleshoot tab.
- Select the Run this program in compatibility mode for option, and click on the Troubleshoot tab.
- Select the Run this program in compatibility mode for option, and click on the Troubleshoot tab.
- Then input the †̃Windows 7′ compatibility mode, and click on the OK button.
Change the Fullscreen mode of the game
- Open the game, then right-click the Menu button and select Properties.
- Go to the Fullscreen tab, then click the checkmark in the Fullscreen Mode option.
- Close the game and check the result.
Use the Fullscreen button in the game
- Right-click on a blank space of the desktop, and select Screen Resolution from the menu.
- Click on the Advanced Settings tab.
- In the Displays section, click on the Monitor drop-down menu.
- Select Extend these displays.
