Use Xbox Play Anywhere to Play Anywhere with Your Xbox One

Xbox Play Anywhere is Microsoft’s initiative to enable players to play anywhere they want using their Xbox One. Since its launch in 2016, Xbox Play Anywhere has benefited many Xbox One players.
Xbox Play Anywhere lets you take your game collection wherever you go, and this feature is notably supported by over 100 games.
However, some are still reporting an error where they can’t use the Xbox Play Anywhere feature.

Check your Xbox Live account and the Xbox One

  1. On your Xbox, open Settings and select Accounts.
  2. Choose Sign-in & security, then Add account.

  3. Log in with your Microsoft account.

Verify the Play Anywhere game

  1. Go to Xbox.com and sign in.
  2. Search for the game.

  3. Click on Installed and select Play Anywhere.
  4. Select the game.
  5. Scroll down and click on Download again.

Check Play Anywhere active

  1. Go to Microsoft Store > search for the game in question > select the game.
  2. Click on Buy > select Get.
  3. Now, click on the Download button.

Check if your account is linked to the Xbox app

  1. Open the Xbox app on your Windows 10 PC.
  2. Log in with your Microsoft account.
  3. Select Account.

  4. Now, scroll down and select Linked devices.
  5. If you see your Xbox One listed there, it means that its offline mode is enabled.
  6. Press the Xbox button on the controller.
  7. Navigate to the Settings section.

  9. Now, select Turn Off.

Reset your Xbox One

  1. Press the Xbox button on your controller.

  4. Wait for the Xbox to take 5-10 minutes to restart, and then enter your Microsoft account password on the next screen.
