The mpcmdrun.exe file is a 32-bit application under the Windows System32 folder.
However, some users have posted MPCMDRUN.EXE errors on the Microsoft Community Forums.

- The mpcmdrun.exe error might have appeared due to third-party tools, outdated drivers, or corrupted system files.
Use Command prompt
- Press Windows + R to open Run, type cmd in the text field, and click OK.
- Now, type the sfc /scannow command and hit Enter to launch it.
- This will scan your computer for sfc errors. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the process.
Run the Compatibility troubleshooter
- Go to Settings, then Update & Security, then Troubleshoot
- Select Compatibility
- Run the troubleshooter
- Run the sfc/scannow command
- Run the DISM command
- Run the DISM command with SystemRestore
Update your display driver
- Right-click on the Start menu button and select Device Manager.
- Navigate to your display driver, right-click on it, and select Update driver.
- Restart your PC.
- Check your graphics card driver version.
Check for pending Windows updates
- Press Windows Key + I to open the Settings app.
- When the Settings app opens, navigate to the Update & Security section.
- Now click Check for updates button. Wait until Microsoft identifies if there are any available updates.
Disable hardware acceleration
- Go to Search, type Control Panel, and open Control Panel
- Click Hardware and Sound
- Navigate to the Display section
- Uncheck the Turn on hardware acceleration when available checkbox
- Restart your PC
Disable your anti-virus

Right-click on the Start icon
Select System. - Go to the Advanced system settings section.
- Select Environment variable.
- Under Variable value, enter TEMP.
- Now, go to “User variables”.
- Enter TEMP in Variable name.
- Enter TEMP in Variable value.
Check your hard disk
- Some users might experience mpcmdrun.exe errors due to hard disk issues. In that case, users can try running Chkdsk /f or ScanDisk on their hard disk.
- Check if the file is correct
Sometimes, it might be possible that the file is corrupt, and replacing it with the working file should fix the problem. - Enter mpcmdrun.exe in the Windows Search bar, select the top result, and click on the Run as administrator option.
- Click Yes in the UAC prompt.
- Click Yes on the User Account Control prompt.
- Close the CCleaner window, right-click on the taskbar, and choose Task Manager.

- Now, copy mpcmdrun.exe and paste it on your desktop.
- Open the mpcmdrun.exe file.
- Go to Tools > Debugging > Settings.
- In the Settings window, check Command line.
- Press OK to save changes.
- Start Task Manager and go to the Processes tab.
- Locate mpcmdrun.exe on the list.
- Right-click it and choose Create Process.
- In the Create Process window, select Create with parameters.
- Enter the following command: “C:WindowsSystem32mpcmdrun.exe ” /i /out:C:WindowsSystem32System32mpcmdrun.exe /i /out:C:WindowsSystem32System32mpcmdrun.exe “
- Click OK and close the Create Process window.
- Now, start Task Manager and go to the Processes tab.
- Locate mpcmdrun.exe on the list.
- Right-click it and choose Create Process.
- In the Create Process window, select Create with parameters.
- Enter the following command: “C:WindowsSystem32mpcmdrun.exe ” /i /out:C:WindowsSystem32System32mpcmdrun.exe” /i /out:C:WindowsSystem32System32mpcmdrun.exe”
- Click OK and close the Create Process window.
